Mumbai: Vidya Balan, who has always chalked out her own path from the beginning, will be seen in a fun, frank and light-weight role in the eagerly awaited slice-of-life comedy, ‘Tumhari Sulu.’
The actress, gifted with immaculate real-life comic timing, will be seen in a completely different avatar in the movie where she plays a night RJ (Radio Jockey).
Finally, the filmmakers have stopped their search post meeting Manav Kaul; who has excelled in important roles in a host of films including ‘Maroon’, ‘Citylights’, ‘Jolly LLB 2.’
Manav will now play the on-screen husband of Vidya Balan in ‘Tumhari Sulu.’
“Our search for the character of Ashok lasted for two months. We finally zeroed down on Manav, who is a fine, seasoned actor capable of blending into different roles. We were looking for someone solid opposite Vidya, and Manav fits the bill,” said director Suresh Triveni.
Vidya will shortly embark on a final round of look tests and script readings to prep for the role. She’ll also be taking dance lessons for the fun film in which music plays a vital role.
The film produced by T-Series and Ellipsis Entertainment, is slated for a December 1 release.
