KJo-Akshay's film on Battle of Saragarhi titled Kesari, to release during Holi 2019

The film, which was initially to be a joint production between Salman Khan and Karan, however had Salman back out later.

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar has never had a patch more purple and all and sundry have been lining up to capitalise on his unparalleled form.

The superstar, who's delivered four back-to-back blockbusters, will next be seen alongside none other than Rajinikanth in Shankar's highly anticipated '2.0'.

Such has been his form that Salman Khan and Karan Johar had decided to jointly produce a film starring Akki.

The film which is to be based on the famed Battle of Saragarhi, however had a clash of interest when it was revealed that Ajay Devgn was also planning a film based on the same. This put Salman in a dilemma, forcing him to eventually back out.

Akshay, however, stepped in to co-produce the film himself, and now, Karan Johar has made the news official, revealing the title and release date of the film.

To be helmed by Anurag Singh, 'Kesari' is slated for a Holi release and might be Akshay's first film of 2019. There have been speculation that Parineeti Chopra might romance the Khiladi in the film.

Akshay is also slated to be seen in . Balki's 'Padman,' co-starring Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.

Well, here's to a cracker of a film.
