Mumbai: Nawazuddin Siddiqui has made ripples, and not the ordinary kind. The actor faces legal ramifications over his memoir, An Ordinary Life, that was recently withdrawn. After his ex Niharika Singh slammed him for writing about their relationship, his “first love” Sunita Rajwar has gone one step further. The TV personality, who, in a Facebook post, called out Nawaz for lying about why they broke up, has now sent him a legal notice. Sunita demands a compensation of Rs 2 crore for seeking to tarnish her image.

Sunita, who hasn’t spoken to Nawaz in the last 16 years or so, says, “I am taking legal action because the damage is already done and it’s irreversible.”

Sunita has accused Nawaz of manipulating their relationship as a publicity stunt. According to the notice, Sunita has been wrongly portrayed as someone “who drove Nawaz to think of committing suicide”. It also clarifies that the part that she dumped him because he wasn’t successful is “a figment of his imagination”.

The book has been a “source of great mental agony” as it has affected her relationship with those close to her. She adds, “The withdrawal of the memoir turned out to be a another gimmick as the book is still in circulation.”

Sunita has demanded an unconditional apology from the actor. The notice has also been served to co-author Rituparna Chatterjee and the publishers of the book. It states that Sunita intends to use the money for charity.
