Nana Patekar refused Kaala initially, Rajinikanth was the reason to pick it up

Mumbai: Nana Patekar is a well-known name not only in Bollywood, but also in the Marathi cinema.

Nana has tried his hand in Tamil cinema, and now he will play an antagonist in the upcoming Rajinikanth starrer ‘Kaala’.

Speaking to Mid-Day, Nana Patekar recalled, “He (Rajinikanth) said that no one was going to look at him. It was a sweet gesture. When he narrated the role to me, I told him that I wouldn’t do the movie because I wasn’t sure about playing an antagonist. But I did it only for him.”

‘Kaala’ is slated to release on 27^th April, which was reportedly going to be the release date for Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘2.0’.
