AR Rahman and Prasoon Joshi walk out of Aamir Khan's film Secret Superstar
The two had worked on the films' soundtrack for almost a year but were yet to be given a green signal.
Mumbai: Aamir Khan’s next film 'Secret Superstar' which was supposed to go on floors in June has found itself in midst of a controversy. Music director AR Rahman and lyricist Prasoon Joshi have walked out of the project, which was to be directed by Aamir's former manager Advait Chandan.
According to a report in Spotboye, AR Rahman and Prasoon had worked on the films' soundtrack for almost a year but were yet to be given a green signal. As Aamir is busy shooting for 'Dangal', he is unable to dedicate enough time for 'Secret Superstar'.
A source close to the maestro said, “Prasoon and Rahman sir had been doing their bit in terms of music sessions, but the film just wasn’t moving forward. No one wants to invest time but not see results, right? Aamir wanted to be thoroughly involved but Dangal hasn’t left him with time to do anything else. So, eventually, Rahman sir decided to quit. Ditto Prasoon.”
Music composer Amit Trivedi and lyricist Kausar Munir have stepped into their shoes.
Aamir will be playing the role of a music composer in the film which will roll out in June. Though Aamir will not be playing the lead in the film, it is not a cameo either. The main lead will be a child and a mother, who are yet to be cast.
