Bosco Martis has planned a dance film called Rocket Gang

With increasing restrictions, filmmakers are making whatever changes are possible to enable them to proceed with their shoots.

While big filmmakers are taking large units to countries with not as many restrictions as India, small and medium-budget filmmakers are using technology to tell their stories.

Bosco Martis, one half of the famous Bosco-Caesar choreographer duo, had planned a dance film called Rocket Gang with the good-looking villain of Student Of the Year 2 Aditya Seal and reality show star Nikita Dutta.

“We had booked a floor at the Film City studios in April, but could not shoot due to the pandemic. But since a dance film has a lot of do with huge crowds, contact dances, the makers are now using Virtual Reality,” says informed sources.

Many scenes will be shot on a chroma screen (a green background) and visual effects will be added. Actors will also be able to view the shots on their monitors and see if and how they need to change steps and movements.

“Many Hollywood films are shot on VR. Bollywood was a bit stubborn earlier, but now it has become a necessity,” says senior writer and film historian Imtiaz Baghdadi.
