Tiger Zinda Hai is Salman's next movie after Kabir Khan's Tubelight, which failed to do any magic at the box office.

Mumbai: When Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger released five years ago, times were different, and the political situation between India and Pakistan was far less volatile. Owing to that, Katrina Kaif could get away with playing the role of a Pakistani national in the movie.

Now, with all that’s been going on between the two countries, it’s going to be difficult to get Katrina’s Pakistani agent Zoya from Tiger Zinda Hai past the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

According to a source close to the CBFC, there is an unofficial ban on all Indo-Pak romances or relationships for now. Says the source, “If you remember, in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Anushka Sharma’s character Alizeh was from Pakistan. But after the surgical strikes and the escalated hostilities between the two countries, her nationality was quickly changed, and she became an Indian Muslim from Lucknow.”

So, do we see Zoya’s nationality being changed too? “It’s likely,” says the source. “The guidelines clearly don’t allow this kind of a cross-border merger.”
