Ajay Devgn's upcoming rom-com eerily similar to one of his earlier films
The actor's last, the self-starring directorial, 'Shivaay,' had bombed miserably at the box-office.
Mumbai: Ajay Devgn self-confessedly spent three years of his life on his self-starring directorial, ‘Shivaay’. However, the hard work didn’t reap the desired results, as the film bombed miserably at the box-office.
Ajay, who’s currently working on ‘Baadshaho,’ which has him re-unite with director Milan Luthria and Emraan Hashmi, has been trying to choose his films carefully.
While he has the safety halo of box-office success in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal Again,’ Ajay’s latest signing, the untitled rom-com by Akiv Ali, isn’t exactly ‘new’.
According to reports, the film is extremely similar to Ajay’s Madhur Bhadarkar helmed ‘Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji,’ which had sub-plots and character trajectories leading up to the protagonist.
While the Bhandarkar film had Devgn playing a man on the verge of getting divorced, Ali’s film will see him as a bachelor trying to play it to the gallery.
It remains to be seen how successful Ajay’s attempt at ‘reinventing’ himself will be.
