I am like a coconut: Arjun Kapoor

That actor Arjun Kapoor has always been protective of his sister Anshula we all know. In recent times, we’ve also seen him take his half-sisters Janhvi and Khushi under his wing, and the reunion of the siblings has been truly heart-warming.
Talking about how he’s gradually come to terms with his role as an older brother to Sridevi’s daughters, he says, “I have always been close to Anshula, Sonam, Rhea, and Harsh. But when it comes to Janhvi and Khushi — we were leading separate lives. Recently, their whole lives changed in a second, and I have been through that mental trauma before. At that time, my father needed me, so I stepped in. Had my mother been alive today, she would have wanted me to do it too. I just stood by their side without thinking about anything else. It was only later that I realised that they are decent children. They have entered our lives and added some much-needed positive energy.”
“There is so much hatred everywhere. You must love. I’m happy that Anshula also has two more sisters now. We needed time, but we are getting to understand each other,” he adds.
Like Janhvi, Arjun also lost his mother just months ahead of the release of his debut film, Ishaqzaade. And having had such a similar experience, he’s gotten extremely close to the Dhadak actress. “She has got her head on her shoulders, and she is very passionate. Work helped me too,” he comments.
Arjun also reveals that though he may not look it, he is a very emotional man. “I may look aloof or detached, but I am emotional, and I get affected by relationships. I am scared of love because the thought of losing my loved ones scares me. I am like a coconut — strong on the outside but soft on the inside,” he says.
The actor recently shared the couch with Janhvi for an episode of the upcoming season of the popular talk show Koffee with Karan, and we ask him if shared any tips with her before going on the show. He responds, “Today’s kids don’t need tips from anyone.”
Meanwhile, Arjun is gearing up for the release of the romantic-comedy Namaste England, which also stars Parineeti Chopra. “The story is very fascinating. Most films end with marriage, but this one begins with marriage. It has been interesting doing a modern romantic comedy,” he says.
