Patna: Mahadalits on Friday pelted stones on the convoy of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who was on a state-wide tour to review the progress of developmental work in Buxar.

Sources claimed that “a group wanted the Chief Minister to see the condition of their area in the Nandar village but their request was turned down which lead to a disagreement”.

Though the incident was downplayed by leaders of the ruling party, Opposition RJD pounced on the issue.

Speaking to this newspaper RJD MLA Shakti Singh Yadav said that “The ruling party must take the issue seriously as it seems that backward class is feeling neglected. The attack also shows growing public anger against the state government’s failed policies and promises.
