Irrfan Khan makes lip-sync debut
His wife Sutapa, a co-producer for the project seems to agree with her husband's self-criticism.
The kind of films or roles that Irrfan Khan has done in the past rarely warranted for the actor to hum a song. But that’s not the case with his next film, Dam Damaa Dam. For the first time in his career, the actor has lip-synced to a song. It’s written by Irshad Kamil and composed by Vishal Bhardwaj.
“If you look closely, I am still not in sync,” says the actor adding, “The song addresses various issues, is hard-hitting and we want it to grow on people. I have never been a part of music sittings before for my films, but this time I got a chance to do that.”
His wife Sutapa, a co-producer for the project seems to agree with her husband’s self-criticism. “I don’t think he has done it well,” she adds with a chuckle.
As for the director, Nishikant Kamath, he said, “Since it turned out to be a powerful song, we thought of making a video, so it reaches out to more people.”
