TOH collection day 5: The dismal run of Aamir's film benefits Ayushmann's Badhaai Ho
Due to woeful performance of Thugs of Hindostan, cinemas have increased the shows of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer.
Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan entered the 100 crore club but it doesn’t have much to boast about since it has consistently seen downfall from the second day of release. The film might just end up as the disaster of the year with lacklustre box-office collection and the severe backlash from the critics as well as the audiences alike. According to Box Office India, Thugs of Hindostan witnessed the biggest dip Monday with a mere Rs 5 crore net business. The film has dropped 70% from Sunday and a huge 82% from Friday and it is worse from the first day which was a Diwali holiday.
The week is expected to close out at Rs 135 crore net which is enough to tell the rest of unfortunate story. Looking at the current status of the film, made at the budget of 300 crores, YRF seems to be at a huge loss and nothing at all might save this sinking ship.

Stressing on the fact that only cinegoers' verdict is paramount and have power to give out fair judgement, noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, "Moviegoers are extremely ruthless and in no mood to splurge on movies they hear is substandard... In this era of social media, the word of mouth spreads faster than fire and can make or break a movie within hours... #TOH #ThugsOfHindostan"

Content is King and the audiences are King Makers!"

The Amit Ravindernath Sharma directorial had crossed the Rs 50 crore-mark within six days of its release and scored its position into the Rs 100 crore-club on Day 17. Interestingly, Badhaai Ho has become Ayushmann Khurrana's first Rs 100 crore film. The quirky family drama presented by Junglee Pictures in association with Chrome Pictures also stars Sanya Malhotra, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Surekha Sikri in pivotal roles.
