IP address in Hrithik case traced to US

Hrithik has denied that the emails were sent by him to Kangana, as he says an imposter was corresponding with the actress by posing as the actor from an email address.

Mumbai: The cyber crime cell that is probing the complaint filed by Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan is waiting to get information from the America-based service provider on whether the email ID from which emails were sent to actress Kangana Ranaut and whose IP address has been traced to the US, was Hrithik’s or not.

On March 18, Hrithik filed complaint with the cyber crime cell on the issue of alleged email correspondence between him and Kangana.

Hrithik has denied that the emails were sent by him to Kangana, as he says an imposter was corresponding with the actress by posing as the actor from an email address. The email ID from which the mails where sent to Kangana is hroshan@email.com.

According to officials email.com is an US-based company. An officer said on the condition of anonymity, “After we got complaint from Hrithik about a fake email Id, we had sent request to the America-based email service provider asking for details about the hroshan@email.com email ID. It’s a common procedure that we always follow. Although we have not received any reply from the same service provider, we are waiting for their reply and simultaneously we are investigating the case.” When contacted, cyber crime cell DCP refused to comment on the issue.
