Exclusive: 'I can never cast you in my films,' says Karan Johar to Maniesh Paul.
Karan not only hosted the show but also took the role of a choreographer and taught a few lady nominees, several dance steps.
As an A-lister filmmaker in the business, Karan Johar is no stranger to starlets and wannabe actors warming up to him in a bid to bag a role. Seems like years of being buttered up has made the man curt towards any advances one makes in the direction and not even his friend Maniesh Paul is spared. At a recent awards show where the two were co-hosting, Paul offered his services as an actor. To this, KJo unflinchingly said, “Oh my, I can never cast you in my films. It’ll be like a bad dream come true!” He further added that his co-host should be happy that he has a few anchoring offers in hand.

It’s a well-known fact that Bombay Velvet, Karan’s acting debut film, bombed at the box office. Just before presenting the Best Vamp’s Award, Maniesh jokingly posed a question to Karan, asking him if he would like to play a vamp in movies some day! The witty Karan instantly replied, “Oh! Not at all. I could never act as a vamp on screen or off it. I am a good soul and I can never do bad to anyone. Turning a vamp on reel will never be my priority.”
