Karan Johar to produce Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat?
We wonder who will fill Rinki and Akash's shoes in the film's Bollywood remake.
Mumbai: Marathi blockbuster film ‘Sairat’ starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar, a tragic love story earned a lot of praises this year and also became the first Marathi film to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
While many producers have expressed their desire to remake the film, it’s Karan Johar who has reportedly bought the rights! According to recent reports, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has acquired the remake rights of ‘Sairat’ and will be producing it along with the film’s original producers, Zee.
Reports further reveal that the basic storyline will remain the same. However, the work on the film’s script is in progress and will be tweaked a little. The remake of ‘Sairati’ will have a completely different star cast and the film will most likely go on floors next year.
While we are excited for the film, we are also curious to see who will fill Rinki and Akash’s shoes in the film’s remake.
