It's official! Punit Malhotra to direct Tiger Shroff in SOTY 2, confirms Karan Johar

Mumbai: After a lot of speculations and curiosity, filmmaker Karan Johar has confirmed the star cast of his much awaited film 'Student of the Year 2'. Yes, the film stars none other than Tiger Shroff and will be directed by Punit Malhotra. 

Earlier we told you how Tiger was quite surprised when KJo called him in for a screen test and how the actor aced it nonetheless. After a lot of speculation, the actor himself confirmed the reports and now filmmaker Karan Johar has made it official.

Karan took to his official Twitter account and shared the news with everyone by writing, "It's OFFICIAL....Directed by Punit Malhotra STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2 ( SOTY2) with TIGER SHROFF @iTIGERSHROF."

In the year 2012, Karan Johar launched three new actors, Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt with ‘Student of the Year’ and now, the filmmaker is gearing up for its sequel which will have Tiger has the leading actor.

Though Tiger is on board, the rest of the cast is yet to be finalised. 

Just like many, Alia Bhatt is wondering the same thing; who the lovely girl to star opposite Tiger in the film is?

There was strong buzz that actor Shahid Kapoor's younger half-brother Ishaan Khattar and Saif Ali Khan's daughter Sara were to make their Bollywood debut with ‘SOTY 2’.
