Excitement is reaching its peak as the highly anticipated release of Gadar 2 approaches, generating immense buzz among fans. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are leaving no stone unturned in their promotional endeavours, embarking on city tours and even visiting temples to create a whirlwind of anticipation for the film. As the release date edges closer, director Anil Sharma sheds light on crucial aspects of the movie.

Addressing Sunny Deol's remuneration, Anil Sharma commented, Sunny's fees were managed skillfully. In fact, he significantly reduced his fees. The actual fee he took home was Rs 20 crore. In today's times, the fees of actors and directors have soared to unprecedented heights, inflating the budget of films to ₹500-600 crore. A significant portion, around ₹150 or ₹200 crore, is dedicated to the hero's share. Our approach was to channel the funds into production."

The eagerly awaited Gadar 2 is set to hit theaters on August 11, 2023. This release date sets the stage for a cinematic showdown with OMG 2, featuring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi. The competitive spirit between these two films is palpable, as both have garnered substantial attention. The precursor, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, left an indelible mark on the box office, emerging as one of the highest-grossing films of its era and establishing a record for ticket sales. With the sequel, Gadar 2, on the horizon, the question remains whether it will meet the towering expectations of its fervent supporters.

Similarly, the initial instalment of OMG, starring Paresh Rawal, resonated with viewers by delving into controversial themes. The sequel, OMG 2, recently obtained an A certificate from the Censor Board, leading to significant alterations.

Anil Sharma's Gadar 2: The Katha Continues shattered numerous box office records on its opening day. The first-day collections are on par with or even surpassing the initial collections of the original Gadar released in 2001. "We anticipated a substantial opening, but the response has exceeded our wildest expectations," reveals an insider from Zee Studios, the film's producers.

"No computer-generated muscles or choreographed fight sequences. Everything about Sunny's performance is authentic, raw, and fierce. It's time to move beyond the spotlight on the Khans and their touted superstardom. Gadar 2 firmly establishes Sunny as the true and genuine action hero of Indian cinema," declares Roshan Singh, a prominent film exhibitor in Bihar.

Zee Studios shares this sentiment, resulting in their decision to substantially increase Deol's fee for Gadar 3, more than double what he received for Gadar 2. A knowledgeable source reveals, "For Gadar 2, Sunny's remuneration was around 25 crores. He will now receive close to 60 crores for Gadar 3. His box office prowess with Gadar 2 has solidified his stature."
