A day with the Lord
Star couple Ranveer and Deepika seek divine blessings at Tirupati on their first wedding anniversary.
On the occasion of their first weddin anniversary on Thursday, Bollywood’s power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh visited Tirumala (Tirupati) to seek divine blessings of Lord Venkateswara.
The couple apparently reached Tirumala on Wednesday night by road and were accommodated at Sri Krishna Guest house (at the Padmavati Guest House premises). Later, on Thursday morning, the couple went in through the VIP break darshan at 7 am to worship the Lord.
Deepika’s sister Anisha and father Prakash Padukone, as well as Ranveer’s sister Ritika and parents Jagjit Singh Bhavnani and Anju accompanied the couple.
Deepika and Ranveer had both dressed traditionally for the occasion. While Deepika opted for a red bridal sari, still looking the Sabyasachi-bride she was, Ranveer sported a heavily worked golden sherwani with a red stole over it.
After offering prayers at Lord Venkateswara’s shrine, the couple posed for the lens men.
A source who witnessed the couple told us, “On hearing their arrival, the crowd turned out in large numbers to get a glimpse of the stars. The couple waved their hands in appreciation of the love. The temple priests gave Veda Ashirvachanam and prasadam to the couple.”
The couple also offered prayers at Goddess Padmavathi Ammavaru Temple in Tiruchanoor near Tirupati. “It was during VIP break darshan between 11 am and 11.30 am that Deepika and Ranveer also sought the divine blessings of Goddess Padmavathi,” the source added. It is reported that they will also be going to the Golden Temple, Amritsar.
