Bhaag Milkha Bhaag duo Farhan Akhtar & Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra reunites for 'Toofan'

The film is based on boxing in which Farhan will reportedly be seen playing a boxer.

Mumbai: After giving a super-hit sports-drama based on the life of athlete Milkha Singh, Farhan Akhtar and filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra are all set to reunite once again for the film titled 'Toofan'. As per the reports of Mumbai Mirror, Toofan is based on boxing in which 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' actor will reportedly be seen playing a boxer. The film will be produced by Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani.

Note trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh also shared the news saying, "After #BhaagMilkhaBhaag, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar reunite for #Toofan... A heartfelt story of a boxer... Mehra will direct the film."

Speaking about a film's development, a source told a leading tabloid, "It’s not a biopic. It is a fictional story scripted by Anjum Rajabali. Farhan fell in love with it as soon as he heard it. Rakeysh has already started with the prep and Farhan will be training extensively in boxing. He is looking forward to working with Rakeysh again. The film should roll this year."

For those who are uninitiated, Farhan and Rakeysh's last collaboration 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' (2013) was a big hit at the box office. The film turned out to be a major success of Farhan's acting career for which he won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag had also bagged the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

On the work front, Farhan will next be seen in Priyanka Chopra and Zaira Wasim starrer 'The Sky Is Pink'. Apart from that, his next production 'Gully Boy' starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt is all set to hit the screens on February 14, 2018.
