Rekha asks guest to delete video of her quandary at event, Tusshar defuses situation

She is not known to make too many appearances, but when Rekha does make it to an event, it is with the expectation that she will be treated with respect. Yet, when the veteran actress recently reached an awards function, she was left fuming. Reason — she could not find a designated seat for herself. So upset was Rekha that she left the function right away, informs a witness. “When she reached and saw the seating arrangement was pretty random, she was furious and decided to leave right away. In fact, when an eager guest tried to shoot a video of her, she asked him to delete it. She stood there without a seat for quite some time before deciding to walk out,” says the witness.

Sensing that the situation could quickly get out of hand, the organisers tried to pacify her. “However, she did not cool down but sat at a table near the door. That’s when Tusshar Kapoor noticed what had happened. He politely walked up to her and offered her his own seat, next to his father Jeetendra. This was on one of the special seats, which is where Rekhaji should ideally have been sitting,” adds the source.

“In fact a lot of celebrities were left without seats because it was a rather badly organised setup. Even Karan Johar was seen standing for some time before he could find a place to sit,” adds the witness. Efforts to contact Farzana, the only person through whom Rekha can be reached, did not bear any result. When Tusshar was texted about saving the day for the organisers, he casually replied that it was a “normal thing”.
