We actors tend to over-complicate things: Shahid Kapoor
\"We actors tend to over-complicate things. I felt like I have asked myself too many questions before doing a film.\"
Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor feels that actors 'over-complicate' things and the reason behind it is 'over-thinking.'
The 35-year-old actor, who is currently on a promotional spree for his upcoming movie 'Rangoon,' recently sat down with film critic Anupama Chopra, along with co-star Kangana Ranaut and discussed how important is it to be an actor to be a big star and whether they pick up films, keeping this factor in mind.
During the conversation, Sasha said, "We actors tend to over-complicate things. I felt like I have asked myself too many questions before doing a film, sometimes while doing a film. But I think, essentially you need to listen to your instinct."
Speaking about the factors that excite him to take up a film, the 'Haider' star explained, "For me, it is about- 'Does this excite me? Can I give one year of my life to this? Does it offer me to do something I have not done before? And, is it something I would love to go and watch? It’s pretty much as simple as that. I think, the simpler you keep it, the better it is."
Concluding his thoughts on a very interesting note, Shahid, citing 'Dangal' as an example, said that Box Office collection, now-a-days, are unpredictable.
"We don't live in a time today where we can predict which film is going to do what number. We are sitting here, one month away from 'Dangal,' which was essentially not a commercial film. The numbers that it has done has out-performed any other film," he said.
On that note, Vishal Bhardwaj directed ' Rangoon,' which stars Saif Ali Khan, Kangana Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor, is all set to hit the theatres on February 24.
