2.0 faces release date issues
A trade source suggests that the reason for this could be pending work.
Even as the teaser of the much-awaited Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar film, 2.0, has been garnering lots of views on social media platforms, there is an element of suspense regarding the film’s release date. Not long ago, the makers had declared that the film would release on November 29, but the teaser did not mention the release date.
A trade source suggests that the reason for this could be pending work. “There may be a lot of VFX work left in the film and they do not want to delay things too much. This is why, the makers Lyca Productions seem to have put out the teaser so that they can keep the audiences busy,” says the source.
The source also adds that the makers are eager for the film to fare well at the box office. “The film definitely has tremendous demand because of the buzz created around it. Its budget is said to be higher than that of the Hollywood film, X-Men, and hence, there is a lot of pressure to collect around Rs 1,500 crore at the box office, so that the makers can be happy,” says source.
