Mental health less taboo: Deepika Padukone
Deepika has bravely spoken about depression even at the peak of her career.
At a lecture series for her Live, Love, Laugh Foundation, Deepika shares that there is less stigma towards mental health today.
Deepika has bravely spoken about depression even at the peak of her career. Today the actress is happy that the conversation on mental health has opened up, but feels we still have a long way to go.
“I think the conversation really has opened up, and I don’t think there is as much stigma as there was four years ago. But we certainly have a long way to go in terms of creating awareness,” said the actress, who was in Delhi for the first edition of a lecture series under her foundation Live, Love, Laugh.
Deepika had set up the Live, Love, Laugh foundation in 2015 to create awareness on mental health, stress, anxiety and depression. “I think it has been an incredible journey. The foundation has been around for four years now, and we have launched our first lecture series; I think we have come a long way. We have a long way to go, but as far as the conversation around the importance of mental health is concerned I think we have come a long way,” she shares.
