Like Salman, I get asked the same question: Tabu fed up with marriage queries
Tabu says at almost every event, she's asked the same questions When are you getting married and tell us about your comeback film!
Though Tabu is tired from all the interviews she’s given ahead of Golmaal Again, she’s her usual fun self. But before the volley of questions start, she quips: “Are you going to ask me a question about my marriage plans? Just like they ask Salman Khan about his marital status, people ask only one question — ‘Aapki shaadi kab hogi?’— I’m fed up of this query!”
Then ask her about the news that went viral on Ajay Devgn being the reason she’s not married, and she bursts into laughter. “Arre… yaar, the headline created all the anxiety among readers. After reading the entire piece, they understood what it was about.” She had referred to how her cousin and Ajay would bully any boy who talked to her in their younger days.
Elaborating on her special bond with Ajay, Tabu says, “Ajay and I worked together in my first film Vijaypath and since then we’ve been great friends. During the shoot of Golmaal Again, Arshad Warsi would always point at us and say ‘I have never seen such a comfortable bonding between two actors.’ So whatever special relationship we share, it will always remain the same.”
The diva also talks about why she dislikes the word ‘comeback’. “People keep asking me if each film I do is a comeback. Actually, every year I have a film on the celluloid. From last year, I’ve worked continuously in Jai Ho, Haider, Talwar Drishyam, Fitoor and now Golmaal Again. But since the last 25 years I am subjected to this query!”
She wraps up the conversation by talking about her role in Cheeni Kum. “That film is a milestone for me. I would like to thank Balki from the bottom of my heart to have cast me and Shri Amitabh Bachchan in this unconventional tale. This film was specially written keeping both of us in mind. If either of us backed out, this film would never have been made. I am really lucky to have been part of such a convincing romantic saga.”
