Cannes: Shruti and Rahman bond over Sanghamitra; to walk the red carpet tonight

Shruti Haasan and A.R Rahman will be walking the red carpet with the entire cast of 'Sanghamitra' on Thursday night.

Mumbai: Music maestro A.R Rahman and Shruti Haasan are in a jovial mood as their film ‘Sanghamitra’ is all set to receive a grand unveiling at the opening night of the 70th Cannes Film Festival on May 18.

The actress posted a picture on Instagram with the Mozart of Madras and Oscar-winner singer A.R. Rahman at Cannes, stating their excitement to walk the red carpet.

The Hindi, Tamil, Telugu trilingual magnum opus ‘Sanghamitra’ is touted to be one of India's costliest and most ambitious projects.

The film stars Shruti Haasan in the title role, Jayam Ravi and Arya as chief male protagonists, which is directed by Sundar C and is produced by Thenandal Studios.

With one of the most loved names from India, A.R. Rahman joining in the red carpet festivities, the ‘Sangamithra’ celebration at Cannes will see a whole new dimension. 

Talking about his Cannes outing this year A.R. Rahman had earlier said, "I'm very excited working on this ambitious project Sangamithra, produced by Murali Sir/ Thenandal Studios, directed by Sundar C and starring Shruti Haasan, Jayam Ravi & Arya. Looking forward to joining the team at Cannes." 

Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai and Sonam Kapoor are all set to sparkle their magic at the Cannes Film Festival.
