Krishna or Karna: Aamir Khan faces dilemma over ambitious Mahabharata franchise
It's going to be a choice between playing Krishna and Karna for the actor.
When you want to take on the mighty Baahubali, you need the support of the gods. And that’s what Aamir Khan is doing. Aamir along with Advait Chandan have planned a series on the Mahabharata which will be a franchise. The Mahabharata is the biggest epic from Indian soil and Aamir understands that there are many stories that can be told in a series of films. Advait who directed Secret Superstar is slated to helm the first part of this series, the work on which will start soon after Aamir finishes promotions of Thugs of Hindostan.
Trade sources inform that Aamir is in a dilemma whether to play the role of Krishna or Karna as the latter is his favourite. “But the team brainstorming on the project feel that Aamir would be better suited to play Lord Krishna as he has the charm to carry off that role and tell the story of the Mahabharata. Aamir however will have others as the narrator for his films. Like Madhavan in 3 Idiots, Anushka Sharma in PK and Aparshakti Khurrana in Dangal,” says our source. Now we know why Aamir refused to do Salute and is now set to take the epic Mahabharata on the international stage.
