The versatile actress has now received an invitation from SAW's Fund to attend their convention on July 15, in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Mumbai: Swara Bhaskar's brave, unabashed and feisty performance of a small-town erotic dancer in her last release, Anaarkali of Aarah got her huge critical acclaim and accolades.
The versatile actress has now received an invitation from South Asia Women’s Fund, (a philanthropic organisation committed to empowering women) to attend their convention on July 15, in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The talented actress known for taking the road less traveled will attend the convention and talk about women empowerment and its challenges, followed by a special screening of her film, Anaarkali of Aarah.
Swara says, “I’m very honoured that SAWF has chosen AOA to be showcased at their festival. The film has a universal appeal. Women everywhere know the experience of being harassed, and abuse of power is a universal theme. The film raises important questions on sexuality as well. The climax of the film is inspiring. It gives a vision of a world where a feminist heroine can triumph.”
“I’m humbled to be interacting with so many women from different countries who do on-ground work on women’s issues. They are our real heroes,” she adds.
Over hundred other women’s organisations working in different south Asian countries including Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be present at the convention.
