Shah Rukh Khan keen to avert Raees-Kaabil clash, pays midnight visit to Rakesh Roshan
It is believed that the two films will not lock horns at the ticket windows on January 26.
Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan seems to have learnt his lesson from losses, his film Dilwale incurred when it willingly clashed with Bajirao-Mastani. Khan’s next film Raees is again a much-awaited one, and this time he wants to play his cards with caution. Earlier Raees was announced as an Id release, set to clash with Salman Khan-starrer Sultan. But when SRK backed out of that race and pushed the film to January, 2017, it was an unprecedented move. He announced the new date for Raees as January 26, this time locking horns with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil and Ajay Devgn’s Baadshaho.

This time it was Ajay who blinked first and postponed his film, while the makers of Hrithik’s film refused to compromise. However, SRK appears to have taken matters into his own hands, to eliminate the clash. He recently paid a visit to Rakesh Roshan and the two chatted for a few hours.
Shah Rukh posted, "Met friend/mentor/family after many a days.Mr. R.Roshan reminded me…it’s not important to do 2 much, it’s important to get 1 right. Thx sir."

At an event held recently, Shah Rukh had said, “We have spoken to Hrithik and also Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar (producers of Raees). That was a month ago, but I guess now we can do some adjustments. Rakeshji (Kaabil producer Rakesh Roshan) and Ritesh and Farhan will be meeting again. We are trying to figure things out, so we don’t have a clash.”
Explaining his reasons further, SRK had said, “I think a big film should release in 3,500-4,000 theatres. When two big films release, we don’t get the magnitude of theatrical release we want. Till the time we don’t have 8,000-10,000 theatres, no two big films can come. Raees is nearly ready, we are only left to shoot that last shot.”
However, things took an interesting turn when director Sanjay Gupta took to Twitter handle to rubbish the rumours the very next day. He wrote, "Dear All
KAABIL releases on Jan 26, 2017. Absolutely no change in date. Hope this clears all unnecessary rumours. Warm regards."
