Alia Bhatt in a Bangla dark comedy remake
Alia is currently shooting for Gauri Shinde's film opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
Alia Bhatt who has had a good run in the industry so far, has bagged another interesting project. She will feature in the Hindi remake of Srijit Mukherjee’s Bangla black comedy, Hemlock Society. The film revolves around a girl learning the different techniques of a successful suicide from a man who trains suicide aspirants.
Although tackling a serious issue, it incites laughter and explores a dark perspective. Srijit Mukherjee will direct the Hindi remake as well.
When contacted he said, “Yes, I’ve spoken to Mahesh Bhatt saab about a Hindi version of Hemlock Society. I feel Alia would be ideal for the role that Koel Mallick did in the original.”
