Alia Bhatt was catapulted to star status soon after her debut in Student of the Year, when she was all of 19! Now, five years on, Alia feels she has matured. Perhaps it’s due to the ‘dulhaniya’ roles she has donned in several films, including Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya! So, what kind of a bride will Alia be in reality? Does she have that rustic, rural shyness in her despite being an urban girl?

Says Alia, “I have not decided yet, but I may prefer a shant shaadi (peaceful wedding). It could be a court marriage, followed by a reception.”

After pondering over it for a while, she adds,  “When I shall tie the knot is still unknown! It is indeed far way. In the meantime, I am keen on doing films with different concepts.”

Recounting an experience while shooting in a small town for BKD, Alia says, “I was awed by the shy nature of the girls belonging to smaller cities like Kota, etc., where we shot for the film. These girls were shy, yet loaded with energy — it made me proud. Another thing which appealed to me about these girls was that they would all easily give a tough competition to the boys riding on scooters. The number of girls riding scooters was much more in comparison to the boys!”

Talking about coyness, Alia discloses a secret about feeling shy for the first time in her life.“It may have been my third birthday. My dad (Mahesh Bhatt) was busy with his film, Papa Kehte Hai. One day, Jugal Hansraj came home, and dad asked me, ‘Would you like to hear Jugal sing a song for you from the film?’ And you know, no sooner had Jugal begun singing the emotional and melodious number, Ghar se nikalte hi kuch door chalte hi, that I felt so shy I hid behind the curtains. Even today, when I see this video of mine, I start blushing!”
