Don't know why we are saying Abhishek is coming back with Manmarziyaan: Aanand L Rai

Abhishek Bachchan, who was last seen in Housefull 3, had been lying low for a while on the movies front. However, the actor is now set to be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan, produced by Aanand L. Rai.

A few days ago, the actor welcomed his foray back into movies, tweeting, “It’s been just 2 yrs since I faced a film camera…A new journey, a new film begins today. Need your good wishes and blessings (sic).”

And while it’s been a good couple of years since he last acted in a movie, Abhishek’s producer Aanand is wary of calling Manmarziyaan his ‘comeback film’. Anand said, “I don’t know why we are saying that he is coming back. He has been around. It’s good for an actor to take a gap if he so wishes to.”

Aanand further heaped praise on Abhishek. “He’s a talented actor. I’ve always wanted to work with him, and I’m glad we could do that with Manmarziyaan.”

Known to bring rural India onto the screen in a significant way, Aanand says it’s his upbringing that he tries to portray on the screen. 

“Whatever I can bring from my middle class background, I translate that onto the screen.”
