Abhishek Kapoor is launching newbie Sara Ali Khan alongside Sushant Singh Rajput in his next love story 'Kedarnath'.

Abhishek Kapoor, who is currently busy with his film Kedarnath, has put one of his most ambitious projects on the backburner. The director was earlier in the news for his two-part project on the Mahabharata. Now, however, Kapoor reveals that the film has been put on hold for the moment.

“We did a couple of drafts and I was excited about the project. But at the moment, nothing is happening on that front. I think Disney also had a little bit of a shuffle. Let’s see, maybe I will come back to that. I would love to make it, so let’s see how we go about it,” says the Kai Po Che director.

According to reports, the first part was supposed to end with a crucial scene of the Pandavas and the Kauravas, while the second part would depict the war.
The film was supposed to go on floors a long time ago.

Meanwhile, Abhishek seems eager to talk about his film Kedarnath, which has required a lot of VFX work. The director reveals that he had considered making the film a 3D one. “It would have been a good 3D experience, but we didn’t have any concrete thoughts. It was a difficult film to make. And the way I started, I was not prepared to do a 3D version of it,” he says.

He adds, “3D is something I personally don’t enjoy. At the end of the day, I am telling a story and the story is the same in 2D and in 3D. This is a big visual experience, but I prefer to communicate with the audience without the 3D glasses in the middle.” Kedarnath is a love story starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan.
