Mumbai: Bollywood singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya's son and wife, who were stranded in blasts-hit Brussels have been shifted safely to a hotel in Antwerp city.
Abhijeet had yesterday said his wife Sumati and son Jai were stranded in Brussels but had assured they were safe.
"They have been taken to nearest Antwerp city in Belgium which is the capital of Antwerp province," the 57-year-old singer told PTI today.
"My son and wife have been shifted to a hotel in Antwerp and I am thankful to Jet Airways for taking care of them. But the actual problem is that both have lost their baggages also," he added.
The singer's family was on board a New York bound Jet Airways flight, which had a stop over in Brussels.
According to Abhijeet, Jai was heading to New York to get training in film-making and his mother was along with him.
"What would take place further, I don't know and that is the real concern. But I have strictly ordered them not to come out from the hotel," he said.
Abhijeet thanked the Almighty for taking care of his family and said the mother-son duo would remain in the city for few more hours or days till the flights resume.
Yesterday, Belgium launched a huge manhunt after a series of bombings claimed by the Islamic State group ripped through Brussels airport and a metro train, killing around 35 people in the latest attack to bring carnage to the heart of Europe.
