Salman offered to be a part of Sivaji biopic without knowing his part: Riteish
The Chhatrapati Sivaji Maharaj biopic to be made in Marathi will have Riteish playing the eponymous warrior.
Mumbai: Salman Khan is known for his munificence, within the industry and outside of it. And Riteish Deshmukh happens to be one man who can vouch hard for it.
Earlier this year, the 50-year-old superstar confirmed he will be a part of the biopic on Chhatrapati Sivaji Maharaj in Marathi, which will have Riteish portraying the eponymous Marathi warrior.
“It was extremely gracious of him (Salman) to have offered to be a part of this without knowing exactly what part he is going to play. I respect that faith he has in me and our friendship,” Riteish divulged in an interview.
Salman, who had also done a quirky cameo in the actor’s highly successful ‘Lai Bhaari,’ had said that his role in the film won’t be limited to being a cameo.
When quizzed on the same the actor revealed that it would be too premature to talk about it since the film was still in the scripting stage. Salman, who’s quite fluent in Marathi, apparently converses with Riteish in the language regularly.
The actor also realises that recreating the bygone era of Maratha dominance convincingly on-screen won’t be an easy task and considers it a huge responsibility.
The biopic will be helmed by National Award winning director Ravi Jadhav, who’s also directed Riteish’s Friday release, ‘Banjo’.
