Arjun Kapoor ‘rose’ to the occasion
Speaking about Rishi Kapoor’s return to India after extensive cancer treatment in the US, Arjun says he is happy.
Arjun Kapoor seems to be the go-to man for social issues. On Sunday, Arjun spent the major part of the day celebrating Rose Day with children afflicted by
cancer.
“When you come here, you think you want to do a few things. But when you meet these children, you also become a child. When you talk to them, you realise
that all the problems in your life are so small compared to theirs,” says the actor about his visit.
“It was also one of the kids’ birthdays, and if I made his day by spending it with him, it is an achievement equivalent to getting a high at the box office, because
that is what we aspire to do: Connect with them after they watch our films. We are never able to do this because of our busy schedules and I am happy I managed to do this today,” adds the 2 States actor, who got emotional during his interactions with the children.
“People around have many problems and there are many issues to be addressed, but that does not mean that we give up. We need to try and make people happy,” says Arjun, who has Panipat coming up for release.
Speaking about Rishi Kapoor’s return to India after extensive cancer treatment in the US, Arjun says he is happy. “I met him in New York too. We need to spread
the word that we can try and work for cancer in whatever way we can. I hope that in the future, we do not have to struggle with cancer treatment,” he shares.
Incidentally, Viveik Oberoi has often done similar events in the past for the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA).
