Shaken, not Stirred
The failure of Thugs of Hindostan, has left Aamir Khan shaken and he is yet to take a call on other film projects.
Shakun Batra’s film project on Osho seems to be on hold at the moment, with Aamir Khan, still dealing with the debacle of Thugs of Hindostan.
Aamir was to start his next project immediately after the release of Thugs of Hindostan by Vijay Krishna Acharya. However the actor has not signed on any dotted line so far. It is the same with Alia Bhatt, who was being penciled-in for the role of Ma Anand Sheela.
“Aamir has not seen a flop for a very long time. It does happen when things do not go according to the script. The failure of Thugs of Hindostan and Aamir’s subsequent admission for the failure of the film and apology to fans, there is a lot of contemplation and introspection taking place. When things are hunky dory, you move ahead as per plan. But when it is not happening that way, you do not know what to do. You look at what went wrong when you make a film like a masala potboiler unlike how Aamir chooses logic over magic in his other films. He is also slated to make the Mahabharata sometime in the future. Plus he has committed to old friend Amin Hajee to do a film for him,” says a source. So, three film projects now wait to see which way Aamir Khan decides to go.
