Hrithik Roshan-Ekta Kapoor’s inevitable clash
The actor’s Super 30 will now clash with producer Ekta Kapoor’s Jabariya Jodi.
The Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30 is finally making it’s way to the theatres two weeks earlier than Kangana Ranaut’s Mental Hai Kya?
The film that was initially scheduled to release on January 30, was pushed to July 26 pertaining to certain issues beyond the makers’ control. But after Mental Hai Kya? decided to release on July 26, Hrithik announced a date change to avoid ‘toxic mental violence’.
“Hrithik Roshan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala had a discussion on the new release date and they decided to not go further down as it would get closer to the release date of the Yash Raj Films’ Hrithik Vs Tiger project. It was important that there is a gap between Hrithik’s two releases and it was decided that they should come earlier even if that meant a clash with some other film,” says the source, adding, “However, what’s interesting is that even if Super 30 did not clash with Ekta Kapoor’s Mental Hai Kya? it will clash with her other project Jabariya Jodi, coming on July 12. This effectively means that Ekta will now change the date of her other film, since the Super 30 makers decided to shift the date to avoid a clash with Mental Hai Kya?.”
Hrithik may have well avoided a clash with Kangana, but it does seem that he wants to take on Ekta after all the imbroglio that took place after the controversy over the Super 30 date change.
