I was hesitant to play homosexual in Kapoor and Sons, says Fawad Khan
Cross border sensation Fawad, who played a role of homosexual received an overwhelming response in Pakistan.
Mumbai: Karan Johar's latest production 'Kapoor And Sons' has not only garnered audience's hoot but critics showed a big thumbs up as well. Featuring Alia Bhatt, Fawad Khan, Sidharth Malhotra and Rishi Kapoor, 'Kapoor And Sons' has moved every emotion possible. The film is declared hit at the box office and the team is super excited over the massive win. Film's director Shakun Batra made an impressive directorial remark with 'Kapoor and Sons'.
At the success meet, Alia reveals that her father and veteran director Mahesh Bhatt wants to work with Shakun, she said, "Dad keeps saying it to me that why we aren't working with Shakun in our banner?"
When asked Shakun on handling such sensitive script with Midas touch, he said, "I took an year to write it and then another few months to ensemble other things. Script like this doesn't stop at one go, it keeps on evolving emotion by emotion."
Recently Alia has admitted that if 'Kapoor And Sons' will get a positive response, a sequel might become, when asked Alia, she said, "I said if people will like the film so the sequel might happen but don't take me seriously."
Cross border sensation Fawad Khan, who played a role of homosexual with so much grace, received an overwhelming response in Pakistan. He said, "I am so happy with the response of the film back there. I was little hesitant to play this role initially but in the due course of time I convinced myself to play this role with bravery."
When asked Sidharth Malhotra about his after reaction on the film, he shared a sweet incidence, "I was never so close with my younger brother and after watching the film, we both got even more closer. He taps my back on several things now."
Rishi Kapoor, Ratna Pathak Shah and Rajat Kapoor was also present at the success press conference. They share their happiness over the success of the film. Rishi Kapoor, who played a 90-year-old in the film with heavy prosthetic reveals that playing the role wasn't that challenging. He also added that the rumors of Shashi Kapoor's death is because of 'Kapoor And Sons'. "I shot for over 22 days and I used to fight with Shakun daily," he laughs.
Since the time Karan Johar has announced the sequel of 'Student of The Year', their is a buzz in B-town as to who will bag the film as leads. When asked Karan about not taking the three main leads from the original, he said, "I will play the lead in the sequel. I'll wear shorts and swim in the film." "I am happy that I am not in the film," Sidharth added funnily.
Karan in his coffee chat has shared that he wants to see Sidharth Malhotra and Deepika Padukone together on screen, at the success meet, he confirms, "It's a good looking pair, they should work together soon." The moment Karan was thrown questions on the making of 'Shuddhi', he called off the press conference.
Soon after, Karan also invited the actor, who played the role of a plumber and Boobli on the stage. The two put up a great show by recreating few acts from the film.
