Shah Rukh Khan's Raees now postponed to January 2017?
Reports had stated that Raees' would take on either Sajid Nadiadwala's Dhishoom' or Ashutosh Gowariker's Mohenjo Daro'.
The potentially catastrophic clash between Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’ and Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ was averted early this month, with SRK picking August 12 as a tentative release date. On Monday, new reports claim that Shah Rukh wants to postpone the release to January 26, 2017!
‘Raees’ was initially set to lock horns at the box office with the YRF wrestling themed film ‘Sultan’. The actor or rather, his producer Ritesh Sidhwani had taken the call to postpone the release of the film by a few weeks. A very reliable source says, “Shah Rukh’s Raees is not clashing with Salman’s Sultan after all. In fact after what the clash of Shah Rukh’s Dilwale with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani did to the former, Shah Rukh was opposed to the Eid clash. It was producer Ritesh Sidhwani who insisted they won’t budge.”

Reports had stated that ‘Raees’ would take on either Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Dhishoom’ or Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ later this year. Rumours are now abuzz that the film has been pushed further to a 2017 release. 'Raees' will see Shah Rukh playing a gangster who ran the illicit liquor business in Gujarat. The film also stars Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
We wonder if Fan and Dilwale’s unsuccessful run at the box office, had a role to play in this shocking move?
