Sanjay Dutt and Ekta Kapoor to work on Shootout?
The two reportedly had plans of working together in 2008, but for reasons best known to them, the project never took off.
Sanjay Dutt has been hot property since the day he stepped out of jail, with filmmakers vying for his dates. One of the first he may oblige, it seems, is Ekta Kapoor.
The two reportedly had plans of working together in 2008, but for reasons best known to them, the project never took off. In fact, Ekta had also reportedly paid Dutt a huge signing amount, which she didn’t recover until 2014, after which reports surfaced that she has filed a legal notice against the actor to recover the sum.
The two, however, denied the reports and issued a joint statement saying, “Contrary to the article, there is no ongoing dispute of any kind between us. Shobha ji/Ekta and Sanjay share a very good personal and professional relationship.
Sanjay has known Ekta and her family personally for a very long time, and the relationship between the two families goes back a long way. Ekta Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt are, in fact, planning to work together for an upcoming project, after Sanjay’s release.”
Now that he is released, the buzz is that the two are going to consider a project, which will be helmed by Sanjay Gupta. A source said, “Sanjay (Gupta) is keen to take his Shootout franchise ahead with Balaji Motion Pictures. It is tentatively called Shootout Reloaded.” When contacted, Sanjay Gupta said that the news is “not true”.
