Will Sonakshi Sinha play Dawood's sister?
Meanwhile, producer Mubina Rattonsey who was waiting for a green signal from Sona has taken up work in the US.
A biopic on Haseena Parker, underworld don Dawood’s little sister was to go on floors earlier this year. But that hasn’t happened due to two reasons — firstly, the actress approached for the role, Sonakshi Sinha, hasn’t been able to commit bulk dates to the project and secondly, the film is in the process of getting a different producer on board.
According to a source, since the film is a low-budget one, director Apoorva Lakhia needs at least 30-40 days from Sonakshi at a stretch—a commitment the actress hasn’t been able to make as of now.
Meanwhile, producer Mubina Rattonsey who was waiting for a green signal from Sona has taken up work in the US. This means that Apoorva, who has co-written the script with Suresh Nair and Chintan Gandhi, will have to get the script registered back in his name.
Informs a source, “The producer has got busy with other projects, so now Apoorva, after getting the script registered in his name, will approach other producers. If Sonakshi’s dates work out by then, she will do the film but if not, then another actress will have to be considered for the role.”
Haseena is the seventh sibling in the family and the film will portray 40 years of her tumultuous life.
