Dileep's custody has been extended by two weeks. The actor will be behind the bars till August 8.

Mumbai: After the highly publicized arrest of Malayalam superstar Dileep on July 10, based on the evidence Aluva police got against the actor that allegedly proves his involvement in the kidnapping and abduction of a popular Telegu and Malayalam actress, comes another shocking revelation from the prosecution who claim that the evidence they have in hand are damning.

As per reports, the prosecution has requested the Angamaly court to grant permission for in-camera proceedings of the victim in this case and also not to hand over the recordings to the defendant’s team.

Although the court is yet to take a call on this, the prosecution has reportedly said that the evidence they have against the actor is damning and ‘more shocking’ than one of the most brutal rape cases to have happened in Indian history—the Nirbhaya gang rape case.

“The evidence in the case are more shocking than that of the infamous Nirbhaya gang-rape case,” the prosecution told the Angamaly court, as per media reports.

Dileep’s custody has also been extended for further questioning and the actor is currently in Aluva sub-jail. The Kerela High Court has also rejected the bail plea of the actor. All the proceedings of the case will reportedly be happening over video conference.

The actor’s wife, Kavya Madhavan, has also been questioned by the police on Tuesday in Kochi, details of that interrogation has not been revealed yet.

On February 17, the actress was abducted and molested by unidentified men when she was returning home from a shoot in Ernakulam district in Kerala.

The incident took place when the men stopped and hijacked her car near Athani in Angamaly. The actress was molested in a moving car till they reached Palarivattom, which is roughly 25 kms away. The accused men got down at Palarivattom and fled in another car.

The gang also took video and photos of the actress while threatening her of dire consequences inside the running car.
