I want an island wedding: Ranveer Singh
...Declared Ranveer singh as he spoke about his dream wedding, movies and more.
Ranveer Singh is a firecracker. On his recent visit to the capital, the powerhouse was at his wackiest, craziest and funniest self. He spoke about his dream wedding, his ideal destination to propose to his lady love, movies and more. Walking down the ramp at the Residence of France on Wednesday night along with his co-star from his upcoming flick Befikre, Vaani Kapoor, the actor wore Diva’ni’s latest collection along with his signature shoes.
The upcoming venture by Yash Raj Films had released its first trailer at the Eiffel Tower in Paris and has been completely shot across popular locations in France. Talking about his French connection, the actor revealed that the first time he ever faced the camera was in Paris: “I have a special connection with France and I could talk all day and night about this magical place. I went to Paris when I was 21 and was part of a huge festival that showcased Bollywood style of dancing in front of the gorgeous people of France through several live dance performances. Legendary dance choreographer Saroj ji was part of it too. And it was the first time I faced a camera.”
The 31-year-old actor, who also launched a Bhangra wedding song called Khulke Dhukle from the film, revealed all about his ideal wedding destination and said that he wishes his marriage is a non-stop party. “You know what? I would want my wedding to be one of the biggest dance parties of all season, and that too a non-stop one. I just want people to come and have a blast. I would like to have my wedding on an island if I can afford it and I would like to have trance party where everybody would be tripping out. And I will live that day like it’s the last day on earth,” he laughed.
But before all of that, would he pick an ideal destination to go down on his knees to propose? He nodded, “Well, Mumbai sounds perfect, I guess. As they say, home is where the heart is.”
Many people from inside and outside the industry have been commenting on how Befikre could be ahead of its time and progressive, just like Lamhe that starred Anil Kapoor and Sridevi, which just completed 25 years of its journey in the industry. About the same, the actor said, “Yes, I think it is reflective of today’s time. It will represent how today’s generation views romantic relationships. We have had assistant directors who were just 18 or 19 years old and they all used to show me their Tinder profiles and tell me who’s saying what, and I used to be stunned because I am not from this Tinder generation.”
Quizzed if he’d prefer playing a character based on an epic or a period drama versus romcoms, and how challenging or easy was it for him, the actor quipped, “Working in a romantic movie is way more difficult than a period film. One would imagine that a film like this, which is breezy and romantic would be easy to do. But taking from what one of my colleagues said recently, sometimes these films are even more difficult. In period films, you have distinctive characters and all their traits are there (written) for you (sic). So it is easy to get into those characters. Whereas, in a romantic movie you got to put in your own personality and hope that it is good enough to engage people.”
