Shahid vs Ranveer in Padmaavat: Fan posts video calling Shahid better, actor retweets

Mumbai: The comparisons between Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh over ‘Padmaavat’s role has been a talking point since long.

Some reports stated that Shahid Kapoor felt insecure with Ranveer Singh getting all the limelight for ‘Padmaavat’. It was even being reported that Shahid went on fire his talent management agency because Ranveer was getting promoted, but not him.

News of their cold war made the rounds since the filming of the movie. It was being reported that Shahid and Ranveer couldn’t work together, and that Sanjay Leela Bhansali was furious over them, which got solved only with his leading lady Deepika Padukone’s interference.

Now Shahid has done something that might just put fuel to the fire. He retweeted a fan’s status where a man, giving a public review, says Shahid had a powerful presence as compared to Ranveer. Here’s the proof:

Prior to this, Shahid had indirectly posted comparisons like ‘subtle confidence vs loud over-acting’. He even told an interviewer that he felt ‘like an underdog’ on the sets because the trio i.e. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had already worked on ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ramleela’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ before ‘Padmaavat’ (earlier named ‘Padmavati’).

‘Padmaavat’, which hit the movie theatres on Thursday, sees Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh plays the villain Alaudin Khilji.

Shahid Kapoor is currently working on ‘Batti Gul Meter Chaalu’ by Shree Narayan Singh, who had directed ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’. He will also work with Imtiaz Ali for their next, and is soon expected to announce another movie with a top production house. Ranveer Singh on the other hand, had started shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ with Alia Bhatt.
