Exclusive: I have bought the rights of Mani Ratnam's film, says Bejoy Nambiar
The film will be a contemporary remake of Mani Ratnam's 1988 film Agni Natchathiram'.
Mumbai: Bollywood filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar, whose last film ‘Wazir’ was applauded at the box office, is currently working on his next script. The filmmaker is currently busy with two scripts.
While the director isn’t yet sure which film he wants to make first, one of the scripts happens to be a Hindi remake of Mani Ratnam’s 1988 film ‘Agni Natchathiram’.
“I have bought the rights of Mani Ratnam’s film. I am planning to make many remakes from down south but for now I am working on 1988 film Agni Natchathiram. I haven't thought of any cast as of now. I will finish the script and announce it,” Bejoy Nambiar told Deccan Chronicle.
The last release of Bejoy Nambiar, who has also worked as an assistant director with Mani Ratnam, starrer Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar in the lead roles.
‘Agni Natchathiram tells the story of two brothers, one of whom is legitimate, and how their relationship transforms with time. The film had Prabhu and Karthik in lead roles.
