Mumbai: John Abraham's latest film 'Parmanu:The Story Of Pokhran' scored a good number in its first weekend despite the IPL final match on sunday. Having made Rs 12.46 crore in its first two days, the box office collection of the film currently stands at Rs 20.78 crore.

The patriotic film has paid off for John in more ways than one, as he was not only the leading man, but also one of the producers of the film.

Noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the numbers on Twitter as he wrote "#Parmanu crosses ₹ 20 cr mark... RESPECTABLE TOTAL... Limited promotion/awareness + #IPL semi-finals [Fri] and #IPL finals [Sun] hit biz hard... Weekdays crucial... Fri 4.82 cr, Sat 7.64 cr, Sun 8.32 cr. Total: ₹ 20.78 cr [1935 screens]. India biz."

Produced by JA Entertainment, Zee Studios and Kyta Productions, Parmanu also stars Diana Penty and Boman Irani. The weekday’s collections would be crucial for the film to get 'hit' tag.

On the other hand, Alia Bhat-Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Raazi’ got over the 100 crore mark on its third Sunday. The total for Meghna Gulzar’s second directorial film is now 101.50 crore net. It becomes the fifth film to cross 100 crore this year after ‘Padmaavat’, ‘Baaghi 2’, ‘Raid’, and ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’.

These films would see competition next week from Kareena Kapoor Khan-Sonam Kapoor's 'Veerey Di Wedding' and Harshvardhan Kapoor's 'Bhavesh Joshi Superhero'.
