Irrfan Khan, one of the most versatile actors of Indian cinema, has happy news for his fans. The actor, who is recovering from his treatment in London, is planning to return to India in February 2019.
Having announced in March that he had been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour, a rare form of cancer, he backed out of promoting his film Karwaan and went to London for treatment. A source close to the actor reveals, “Irrfan is recovering well and is planning to come to India by February 2019.” If all goes well, Irrfan will also play the lead role in Shoojit Sircar’s film, a biopic of the revolutionary Uddham Singh who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, the erstwhile Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India in 1940, to avenge the 1919 massacre. Irrfan has been providing updates about his health through the social media platform. In August, he said that after four rounds of chemotherapy, he had found a new perspective on life, and wrote, “I’ve seen life from a completely different angle. You sit down and you see the other side and that’s fascinating. I’m engaged on a journey (sic).”
