It came as a shocker when 'Aligarh' collected only 31 lakh (NBOC) on Friday. Released with a limited number of screens, the collections is half of what Hansal’s last film 'City of Lights' had collected on its opening day. 'City of Lights' collected approximately Rs 70 lakh on Friday and the word of mouth gave the film a decent push.

However in the case of 'Aligarh', the word of mouth hasn’t helped either.

'Tere Bin Laden 2' also had a disappointing start at the box office.

Meanwhile the other big release, 'Tere Bin Laden 2', collected Rs 54 lakh (NBOC) on its opening day. Both the films were expected to get more numbers but ended up being a disappointment at the box office.

Watch out for this space for the weekend numbers of both the film.
