Not part of Rakesh Sharma biopic: Vicky Kaushal
Vicky Kaushal confirms that he is not attached to the film, which was previously billed as Salute.
Finally, Vicky Kaushal has spilled the beans on his association with the Rakesh Sharma biopic Saare Jahan Se Achcha, which earlier was billed as Salute.
The actor has come to reveal that he is not a part of the film. “I am not attached to the film at all,” confirms the Uri actor.
The actor, who climbed the ladder of Bollywood with back-to-back powerful character-driven roles, seems to have become the choice for patriotic filmmakers lately, with biopics on Shaheed Udham Singh and Sam Manekshaw coming up. “As for Udham Singh, it was a dream to work with Shoojit Sircar. With Sam Manekshaw, I have heard stories from my parents about him and it is an honour that people are choosing me for such films,” he gushes.
Incidentally, his first biggest grosser of the year, Uri was shown free of cost all over Maharashtra on over 500 screens in the state on 26 July, better known as Kargil Vijay Divas. “It was a surprise when my producers told me about it,’ says the actor. “I would like to thank the CM of Maharashtra for making it possible for the film to be viewed like that. It was nice to know that people still wanted to see the film because the shows were packed,” he adds.
