Karan was asked if Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir would have the same level of comfort to portray homosexual characters on-screen.

If reports are to be believed, then Karan Johar is planning on breaking every stereotype associated with homosexuality by roping in the three Khans of Bollywood for a film.

The 43-year-old director, who previously spoke up about the challenges he faced in his childhood for being effeminate, has recently opened up to a daily, where he claimed that Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan will be happy to play homosexuals on the screen.

During the trailer launch of Manoj Bajpai's ‘Aligarh’, Karan was asked if Bollywood's three Khans would have the same level of comfort to portray homosexual characters in a film.

Replying to it, Karan said that it mainly depends on the script, if it is good and poignant, they wouldn't mind playing such roles.

Hansal Mehta’s ‘Aligarh’, is based on the real life of professor Ramchandra Siras of Aligarh University. The film will see Manoj Bajpai essaying the role of the professor, who was ousted from the university for his homosexual orientation, while Rajkummar Rao will be seen playing the role of a journalist who followed Siras’ case.

The ‘Student Of The Year’ director himself has touched upon the taboo topic in his films such as ‘Dostana’ and ‘Mumbai Talkies’.
